NYCC ’19: Cecil Castellucci Discusses Jack Kirby’s Influence and Legacy on “Female Furies”

Cecil Castellucci first came to many folks’ attention with “Shade, the Changing Girl,” one of the launch books for Gerard Way’s ‘Young Animal’ imprint. Earlier this year, she penned “Female Furies,” a story set on Apokolips that tells the story of Big Barda’s time as a Fury, and how and why she, eventually, left. Cecil is now writing “Batgirl,” where Barbara Gordon is wrestling with her past as Oracle in unexpected ways.
